Pedestrian Crossing for Butlersbridge National School – Feeley

Fianna Fail Councillor, John Paul Feeley has welcomed the allocation of € 22,000 from the Action Plan for Rural Development to provide a pedestrian crossing and related safety measures at Butlersbridge National School. ‘This busy and growing school is located on the N54. There is a huge amount of traffic in the area and this obviously increases at school times. These measures will make it safer for those who walk to and from school and perhaps encourage others to do so also.’ ‘Given that the school has had a number of extensions there is a clear demand for improvements in pedestrian safety. I was delighted to help the local GAA club secure additional ground nearby from Cavan County Council to allow them to improve car parking and other facilities at their grounds which will also facilitate the school and graveyard.’ ‘I look forward to seeing all of these projects in the coming months.’ ENDS
